Nametag Sunday – We all know the feeling—recognizing a face but not quite remembering the name! On Sunday, September 7, we’ll have Nametag Sunday to make it easier to connect with one another. Be sure to grab a nametag when you arrive and help us put names with faces as we continue building community together.
Grief Support Group- If you are experiencing grief from a loss, we invite you to join our grief support group- a bridge of hope, for those who are suffering. The group meets the first and third Tuesdays of every month from 9:30-11:00 am in the Adult Education Room. Muncy Family: Missionaries to Mexico- On September 14 during morning worship we will have the opportunity to hear from Brandon and Hannah Muncy, who serve in La Paz, Mexico at Rancho El Camino. They will also be sharing with the students at Youth Group that evening. If you would like to host them for lunch or dinner or invite them to share with your small group on 9/12-9/14, please contact Natalie Runyon.
Miles 4 Meso- On Saturday, September 20, the annual Miles 4 Meso 5K is held in Alton, IL to benefit patients and families impacted by mesothelioma and other asbestos-related diseases. Hundreds of runners race past the church on this day, and we love to be there to offer cups of cold water and to cheer them on. This is a great opportunity for families to serve with their kids. Volunteers are needed at the church from 8:45-9:45 am. If you can help, please see Eddie Hitchcock. In addition, The Bridge has a booth set up at the event. If you would like to serve at the booth, please see Kim Maynard.
Church Directory- Did you know we have a Church Directory?? You can find it in the Church Center app. Download the app, select your church, and once there, check out the Directory. Is your info there? If not, see Natalie Runyon. Our goal is to have everyone in the church family added to the Directory. We appreciate your help!
Mountain T.O.P. Fall Adults in Ministry Mission Trip- Adults if you’ve ever wanted to serve at Mountain T.O.P. now is your chance! Youth Group- The Bridge Youth Group is now meeting on Sunday nights from 6-8 pm. Join us in September as we talk about fierce faith.
We have two wonderful ways to bless the next generation:
College Students
Send an encouraging note to our college students! Their addresses are available in the foyer. Let’s remind them they are loved, prayed for, and supported by their church family.
Youth Envelope Fundraiser
Help our youth raise funds for their Fall Retreat at Lake Williamson! Stop by the Envelope Tree in the foyer, choose an envelope, and give the amount written. Every gift helps send our teens to this life-changing retreat. Thank you for your love, prayers, and generosity!
As a church that is for our city, we want to encourage those who call The Bridge their home to check out and support local events and live missionally in our community.
September 4-7: Alton Expo
Ways to Serve
Serve with Bridge Kids!
We’re looking for passionate, caring volunteers to join our Children’s Ministry team! Bridge Kids serves children from Pre-K through 5th Grade, and we need teachers and helpers to serve just once a month on a rotating team.
This is more than childcare—it’s an opportunity to help shape young hearts and grow in your own faith as you prepare to teach. Volunteers commit to one year at a time, making it a manageable and meaningful way to invest in the next generation.
To ensure a safe and welcoming environment for our kids, all volunteers must complete The Bridge’s “Five Safety Steps” before serving.
Ready to make a difference? Talk to Natalie Runyon.
The Way of Wisdom- Women’s Bible Study is moving to a new day! Join us on Wednesdays at 9:30 am or an 8 week study on the book of Proverbs. Every day we face the choice between the true riches of God’s instruction or the fool’s gold of earthly pleasures and pursuits. How often do we call to mind the wisdom found in the sayings of Proverbs to shed light on the path before us? How relevant do we even believe these ancient words are to our modern world? The wisdom of Proverbs is an invitation to steadily walk God’s way in God’s world. Childcare is provided for this study. If you plan to attend, please register at https://thebridgealton.churchcenter.com/registrations/events/3060695
Men's Bible Study-Tuesday mornings from 7-8, the men of The Bridge meet to study and discuss the upcoming week's sermon text. Coffee and donuts are provided.
Women’s Community Group- Each week we study the upcoming sermon text together with women from The Bridge and the community. On Thursday, September 11, we kick off a new season and we’d love for you to join us! We meet from 6-8 pm at local homes. For details, contact Brenda Wooff or register on Church Center. https://thebridgealton.churchcenter.com/registrations/events/2061598
Community Groups- There are a variety of Community Groups that meet throughout the year. To find a Community Group that’s right for you, or to learn more about leading or hosting a group, see Pastor Jon.
